However, I was braced for it to be terrible or,at best,mediocre. I was so delighted by how much I enjoyed this album that the album was on heavy rotation at home daily for months and on my mp3 player for over a year. I saw them live on on the tour and it remains my favorite concert of all time in Is it as good as the classic era Mac?
Audio CD Verified Purchase. In when Fleetwood Mac, stepped back onto the concert stages of the world, they brought back a handful of new songs and dipped into their past catalog scoring big with a B-Side from a single, twenty years past: It took six years for Fleetwood Mac to release the new album.
In The first blow against the record was the loss of Christine McVie. Chris, had retired from FM, and moved back to England. Without Christine, there would be a huge hole to fix. Who would be brought in to replace her? How could she be replaced at all? This version of Fleetwood Mac is: This record is slick, electronic, processed pop music.
With 18 tracks included, it is a big record in it's scope and size. On a whole: Sweet sounding songs, such as: Lindsey, gets out there about as far as he can at every chance on this record.

This album, represents a different Fleetwood Mac, this isn't: This music is powerful and very different from past glories, Fleetwood Mac, has grown up. This "Deluxe" edition of: Live versions of: But with this recording: Four Stars!!! Talk about not resting on one's considerable laurels. This one surprised the heck out of me: I don't consider myself a hardcore Mac fan, and I'd never have imagined that these four and especially Lindsay Buckingham would be having this much obvious fun after so many years.
It's a delightful, energetic, surprisingly daring album, more than generous at 76 minutes. Going track by track, just for fun What's the World Coming To? A- A catchy and solid midtempo opener in the classic Mac vein. Here we have the first of Buckingham's little experiments.
Say You Will
Nicely layered vocals, smart lyrics, squalling guitars Illume B This one has its heart in the right place but could probably use a few more chord changes. It's pure, brilliant pop, courtesy of Stevie Nicks, though from the first note, it's Buckingham's shimmering guitar work that catapults it into the stratosphere. Miranda C First one that doesn't really work for me. It's just kinda blah. Red Rover A Experiment 2. Big wacky fun for Buckingham, with FM's formidable rhythm section keeping it anchored in as much reality as you really need. Nice little pop song otherwise.
Come A Experiment 3. I'm not sure that makes any sense as a sendoff, and I'm even less sure that the rest of this song makes any sense as a song, but I flat-out love it nonetheless.

The chorus if you can call it that is a big cacophonic mess, but somehow, it just works. And, wow, those guitars. It's mad genius, and while others have had the temerity to suggest that it should have been left off the album, you should believe me and not them, because I'm right, darnit. Smile at Me C I've listened to this song over a dozen times, and it continues to leave no impression on me whatsoever, so I'm giving it the requisite neutral grade.

Running Through the Garden A Irresistable, edgy, and beaten out by "Thrown Down" in the pure pop department by just the narrowest margin. If you had to pick a track to play with the top down on a sunny day, this arguably would be it. Bleed To Love Her A- Great acoustic guitar work, and arguably the best vocal collaboration on the album.
Everybody Finds Out A Yay Destiny Rules B- Pretty much what you'd expect at this point in the track list. Say Goodbye C Ditto. Goodbye Baby A Now this is something. Written by Buckingham, sung by Nicks, it's terribly sad and terribly gorgeous, and it ends the album on a perfect note. It reminds me somehow of Liz Phair, who should probably cover it pronto.
