Tuxera, Toshiba canvio MacOS Sierra doesnt work

However, I am not sure that I am understanding. The external hard drive is compatible with both windows and Mac.

Yesterday, I went to use the external hard drive to add picture files to it for the first time since the update and it will not allow me to add files to the hard drive. It gives me a circle with a backslash symbol when I attempt to add files.

You have been running a third party app such as Tuxera or Paragon to enable you to write to the drive. You updated your OS without updating this third party app so you lost the ability to write to the Windows formatted drive. Either format the drive for Mac or update your third party app. If you choose to format then make sure you copy off all your data since it will be lost during formatting. Not any more.

What’s in the Box

How is it formatted? To determine that use Get Info like you did before.

Its format is shown adjacent to Format: Yes, when I go to get info it says format windows ntfs. This is where I ended wondering if I should download the tuxera ntfs ?

Unless I would just purchase a new external hard drive. Are you familiar with g-technology? Would that solve this issue? Purchasing a new external?

Refer to this Discussion: I can no longer write to or delete from my external hard drive. That's the reason you can't copy anything to it. I don't use "Tuxera" so I can't offer any advice other than to let you know those things typically break with macOS upgrades. You can use literally any external USB hard disk drive with a Mac. It took less than a minute and I'm not that tech savy.

Go to Disk Utility-- if you don't know where that is type it into the magnifying glass spot at the top right of your screen. In Disk Utility select the Toshiba machine and you'll see the information on it.
