In fact, the first time that I tried playing a video, from a DVD, was a couple of days ago. No problem. Well … no problem until I put the second DVD in and then the hardware died — the superdrive buzzes three times with about 10 seconds in between, and then ejects the DVD. The folder names, file names etc. Tiger is pickier than Panther. Oddly enough, the first time I installed Matinee my dvd player opened just fine. Anyone else usbing it out there??? Apple seems to have changed DVD Player when they ported it as a universal app.

Play AVI DivX codec Movies on Quicktime in Mac OS X Leopard
None of my DVD apps work well except player. DVDBackup stops at 1. This all work on the same machine and drive under panther. Not to mention my Quicktime pro license is not valid with Tiger either. Never had a problem playing these files before. I wonder what Apple has done, and why. I figured it out.

Any thoughts? I created a folder inside the title folder and dragged all the media into it. Went back to dvd player and it now works. I use it often while traveling.
