There was a problem filtering reviews right now. It seems as though all successful software companies commit the ultimate crime by not looking after their faithful customers. Software should get cheaper as each upgrade is based in most cases on the original software, come on, they are not going to 're invent the wheel'. Its a well known fact that if the price is right you get more people buying the software and far less ripping it off. The problem is that once upon a time Adobe software was the industry standard because there was very little competition but now there is free software that will produce professional results and read, edit and save Adobe software files.
I think they have just taken it too far and got too greedy. Go CorelDraw Photo-paint, it works for me and I have been a professional graphics designer for 35 years mainly on PC's. Bye Bye adobe, you've priced yourself out of yet another customer, other products out there that might not be in the same league 'yet' but I'm sure they'll now catch up especially with what must be a substantial number of loyal adobe photo shop uses not prepared to pay ridiculous money just to rent software for what is to many just a hobby Adobe's focus on the shareholder rather than the customer will expedite their demise - doubtless they will go the way of Quark and for similar reasons.
Adobe used to take a lot of money from me, but since they introduced CC they've not had a penny from me.
For the Mac user, in particular, there are several viable alternatives. Many professionals have made the switch from Adobe and - in a way - Adobe's greed have helped us find better and cheaper alternatives. Absolutely disgusted at this latest rip-off. As a pensioner with limited resources to pursue my hobby I'm now forced to leave Adobe and the expertise I've built up with their software.
Adobe should remember to be nice to their customers on their way up as they will meet them again on their way back! That Photoshop in all its variety has been the industry yardstick for image manipulation since it arrived on the market, is a given: that they have bled the user-market financially dry seems increasingly true. A few years back they bought out Cool Edit, the UK audio editing software, at the time available in two versions, both good value for what they respectively offered and widely used at the BBC, no less. Adobe soon put a stop to all that good value.
So by now we all know their basic instinct. Such a shame for such brilliant software, especially for non-professionals only requiring occasional use, and wanting a wider 'tool range' than Elements or Lightroom offer. All power to their competitors, say I.
