I don't have Google Drive so I can't test it, but the latest version of Instagram can be added as an "Activity" under the Share menu for photos. Try going to a photo in Google Drive, tap the Share button, scroll right on the Activity icons the colorful ones , tap More, enable Instagram if it is disabled, tap Done, then select Instagram from the Share menu.

I understood your idea and have Share button in iCloud photos and native iPhone Photo app. But there is no Share button in Google Drive and Google photos. I see, that's the part I wasn't sure about. Is there a reason you don't want to save the photos to your phone then add them to Instagram? Download edited photos to Drive and post them to Insta with a tablet. So currently I have no way of adding a photo to an activity. Not to be 'that guy', but if the APIs exist to upload photos via mobile then why can't a file upload be offered in the web interface?
I suppose if you don't have a phone or a tablet to install the Strava app, I can see that it is an issue.
I would guess that most folks that have the tech of a garmin probably also have a phone so it probably creates a significant problem for a fairly small number of folks. Obviously it's frustrating for folks in that situation, but I do think that the folks at Strava try to deliver a quality product. As far as I can tell, photo uploads are absent from the public API. If they were there, I'd do this myself. It's a pain in the butt to have to transfer photos from my Drift camera to a PC and then from a PC back to the phone so I can add a photo to my ride.
I work in software development and I know what it's like trying to prioritise a backlog with limited resources so I do sympathise, but given most of the functionality is already there on the mobile app I am struggling to understand why it's taking so long t implement a web image upload facility.

Hey ho, maybe you're about to deliver some other super awesome feature instead Come on This is so frustrating, especially when on vacation where the only option -Instagram- does not work due to the lack of Internet-availability. Even at home, I sometimes forget to upload pictures into Instagram - and then: that's it: No picture. What projects can be more important than having a happy community which is able to upload pictures even after 15 minutes after an activity???

Those might be easier to get to because the shared folder may be hidden. Open Strava within Bluestacks From an activity menu, edit the activity and click add a photo.
From the photo selection menu, click the settings button in the top right and check 'Display advanced devices'. There are your pictures. It's a long, annoying process that we shouldn't have to do, but it works.
