Hi im a huge apple collector I would love to have it if you still got them i have many vintage mac desktops but no apple laptop and I can always find good homes even for dated computers I am also a big mac collector I also have a rare next station color with cd rom and sound. I have the original Apple Macintosh Classic. I purchased it in from University of Pennsylvania, about six months before they were released to the public in January When the upgrade and external Drive came out, it was like heaven. Original k Macs which were upgraded to a k or Mac Plus are worth less today than the unmodified systems — although back then you needed to do those upgrades to make the system useable! Should I scrap it for the guts. When we switched to an Emac it still worked. Let me know what you think. They were ordered in and delivered in April It has been updated to and then or was it 1 M? All working would they be worth anything? They were both working last time I used them, but it has been years… Do these have any resale value? I have an original Macintosh k not ke in practically mint condition still has Energizer clock battery from I have all the original documentation including receipts and service documents and all the original software. Got it home, fired it up, jailbar pattern, no chime. Took it apart, and guess what I was looking at? A new motherboard had to be sourced from Canada eh? Stripped it down to the bone, cleaned up the rust, put some grey metal primer on it, and it looks good as new. With the retr0bright treatment finished keyboard and mouse done as well , it looks great. Greg Thanks for for mentioning retr0bright! Then I put the case out in the sun summer time is best , orient it to the side I want blasted with UV radiation, don the sunglasses and some reading material, and simply spray it about every seconds.
It dries fast so frequent reapplication is a must. Easier, cleaner, faster than any gel mixtures or fancy tanks full of H My IIcx has 20MB of ram in it. That provided instant level loading. I disagree. Apple could have taken over the entire computer market had they followed that convention. Like it or not it took the business market with the means to buy numbers of Personal Computers from a vendor they trusted to lead the way to affordable PC a large numbers of home users would consider. At least three other factors lead to the relatively affordable IBM PC compatible that most use in their homes or at work.
Because physical storage space is expensive, even if I had ever owned some of that now old premium priced hardware it would have been long buried. However it good to read what those who have been able to maintain operational examples can do with it. Unix with a Mac OS 7 emulator. So you really do get a bargain these days for computing power. That machine has 32MB, which is way more than you need, as 10MB should cover 7. Even got X going. Linux runs on a or higher, but needs a MMU. As far as I can see the SE has a full ? Linux NoMMU is part of the main tree these days. Is it just a limit of the available SIMMs and sockets?
Or is there some intrinsic limit in those pin SIMMs? Mind you, the time to check all the memory is quite long with MB. With 32MB, its about 10 seconds or so. System 7. Works fine in Sheepsaver, as a note.
