For all Macs that match a specific secondary display capability or resolution -- courtesy of EveryMac. Please note that "mirroring" means a Mac is capable of displaying the contents of the first display on a second display and "dual" means that a Mac can support two displays with different content on each display. Systems that are listed as "Mirroring Only" but with an asterisk are capable of supporting dual displays with third-party hacks.

Please also note that this listing is for systems as shipped -- of course, systems that are capable of supporting additional video cards can support additional displays if another video card is installed. Likewise, third-party graphics cards may support resolutions higher or lower than those provided. Hopefully this thread will help others as well. How to get 3 displays to work on a Mac Pro Tue Nov 19, 5: Here's the only caveat I have my monitors connected to a rackmount power strip with individual power switches so I can turn them on and off individually.

I sadly now realise that the card was flashed for Mac, as it has an unusual combination of outputs only originally available for PC. I have another thread running with this subject but having read your note again Using 2 x DVI outputs as as 2 main computer monitors I tried the HDMI port output from but seemingly no signal.

All 3 displays have a picture and come to life in the following boot-up sequence: Do you think I'm on a mission to nowhere attempting to make 3 displays turn up in System Prefs Arrangement window as 3 independent screens? I've tried zapping PRAM but wonder if my intention to run a 3rd screen is not actually possible with this card? I have to try really hard to beat her now!
