That's OK, no problem. I hope you can get your game working. Origin seems terribly flakey but once you are set up your game should be OK. January This worked. I haven't loaded the game yet to see, but it now shows up in the launcher! Thanks so much!! April I cannot thank you enough!

Sims 2 : Super Collection FAQ
Reply 0. Accepted Solution. December - last edited December Sometimes the download or installation fails. This can be for a variety of factors, including your internet connection dropping out during the download. Sometimes this can result in an awkward situation in which Origin acts as though the game is installed correctly. This is the location from which your game actually launches as opposed to a similarly named folder within Documents, which is where your saves and other data are stored.

- kompozer for mac os x.
In the folder in Applications you will see the shortcut icons for the base game as well as any expansions or stuff packs installed. If you can see the icon for the game that has failed to properly download from Origin, try right clicking on it and this should give you the option to show the original file. You can move the original files to the trash from there. This may allow you to commence a re-download from Origin.
Many thanks go to Tremayne from TS3 Mac forum for this suggestion.

I've read and been told that The Sims 2 mac is not compatible with Lion as Lion does not use or support Rosetta which is essentially a PowerPC compatibility mode. Aspyr who ported the game to Mac no longer support the game and have said they wont be releasing any updates for their older titles. They suggest partitioning your hard drive and installing an older version of OSX onto part of your hard drive allowing you to boot into the older version where you can install and play the game.
Of course this requires you to buy another operating system. Alternatively if you still have your windows installation discs you could partition and use bootcamp to instal windows and play the game that way, which is how I play the game as I found the mac versions to be incredibly buggy. You can install it on Lion.
