Hey everyone, My DVD player application is not showing the picture. Yet it is playing the sounds of the movies and also i can select the main menu options.

So it seems DVD Player won't show a picture when my macbook pro is connected to my 30" Dell monitor via display port cable. Picture won't show on the laptop screen either when connected to the monitor.
Weird, but not a huge issue. Works on VLC.

That may provide some clues depending on the result. It would be nice to hear from someone who can actually see the picture of such a DVD showing up via their Apple TV and then we may get to the differences in our setups more quickly. On my iMac I could see the video and hear the audio. I then turned to Airplay and selected the Apple TV.

In any case, the sound was now playing on the TV and a blank grey screen appeared where I expected to see the video. This was exactly what I had found last night using the external drive. All was great running the DVD on my iMac screen. To get the picture to appear I have to turn off screen sharing. Only then can we watch the movie.

This is a silly copy protection measure. I have the same problem when viewing something via iTunes.
There is no way to watch a video through screen sharing you get a grey screen both on the host and the client. Listen now.
