Indesign still crashes at launch.

It crashes after the dispay of new features shows up. Does someone have a solution or tips? Thank you so much! Trashing the prefs did the trick. So after launching ID I put back my workspace prefs. After loading that workspace ID crashed again So I remembered, I was having trouble yesterday in ID with Kuler which will load in my customized workspace.

But I am glad it works again! I will also save your other solutions. You never know Grt Felix.

Has any one expereinced this problem. Indesign CC crashes at launch. Yep, me too! I've uninstalled and re-installed, I've run disk permission repair, I've removed preferences, and still it crashes. Start by making sure the InDesing Recovery folder is empty.

If there's corrupt recovery data ID will never launch. Also trashed preferences. YOu said that it has worked before so any chages you made , like installing som enew software or updating the app. Also check after trashing the prefs manually : These are normally hidden files, so you will need to set your system to show them.

They will be found in various places depending on the OS, and the version of InDesign. Watching the splash screen, the error comes up shortly after it says "Starting Up Service Registry. Thank you both for your replies. This was a painful issue to resolve. I worked with Adobe support over three different calls. I received different advice at each call but the successful process in the end was to completly uninstall and further delete all traces of adobe software and reinstalling again. I had CS3 installed and was told that it is incompatible with Windows 7 though its been running on my desktop and laptop without trouble for years.

So what I did was to first uninstall pretty much everything starting with Adobe in my Uninstall Programs control panel. Not all of them existed. I also included Program Files x86 where any Program Files paths are listed. During this process I discovered what I believe may have been the actual cause. Sorry, I do not recall which as I have since had a hard disc failure and had to really start over. I thought I had done a search of fonts but apparently had not done such a good job.

I the end, I believe I had a copy of a corrupted font in that folder. Remove anything corrupt. If all else fails, 4 follow uninstall procedure described above. Seconds after InDesign has finished launching, it crashes! It was OK until I created a workspace, and I suspect it's the folio builder that is the suspect, but what's happening is that once it has finished launching, I get a warning window pop open saying: Restore windows The application InDesign unexpectedly quit while trying to restore its windows.

I am now stuck in this loop of not being able to launch InDesign CC. What can I do? First Step is always try to delete preferences. With InDesign also delete saved Data. If this does not help, create another user, if it crashes there too, it is a problem with the installation, if not it is a problem with the user account.

If it does not help try to uninstall the program and install it again. I had a similar problem with Photoshop on Friday and ended up with a complete new installation with all Adobe Apps on my Mac. I had help from some Adobe QE which were connected with me via Internet for several hours, so it was at the end their idea to do so, but now it is working. InDesign CS4 crashes on launch.

RPLN File Extension - What is an .rpln file and how do I open it?

I recently migrated my files to a new MacBook Pro. I have not been able to launch InDesign since doing so. The other CS products, while sometimes glitchy, seem to be working. The launch generates a splash page, then crashes and generates a crash report. I think I can post that at a related site? I'm running OS X, version I've tried most of the fixes already suggested, except deleting the recovery files, as I don't know where to find those.

I've tried to uninstall InDesign only, but when I launch the uninstaller, I get a message that says "required support files are missing.

I've subscribed to the creative cloud, master suite CS6. When I try to open any doc in Photoshop, it launches the application but stops on a dialogue: "Could not save preferences because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file etc" - this is the same dialogue that comes up whenever I quit Photoshop, even when there's no file open just the blank application.

I can't change the workspace either - the pulldown simply won't work. A write permissions error has occurred.
