I'm not trying to post an ad for it, but I do find that it's a interesting idea to take such a big step backward in graphics. In case you don't know, it's a flight sim with solid colors on vector maps. I'm not sure how accurate it is as far as flight modelling I haven't played with it much, but it seems to handle stall rather badly , but I wonder if there is any interest in an X-Plane Lo?
I absolutely love the new X-Plane 8. It's beautiful, there's a ton of great features, but it's making my 4-year old desktop quiver and die. I'm saving up for a nice new SLi desktop that should handle it fine, but I'd like to see a very resource cheap X-Plane with minimal textures and aircraft detail. I think X-Plane has a lot more to offer as far as flight mechanics accuracy, but it's quite nifty to fly around in such a cheap environment.
I think with some tweaking, the combat bits could be a lot of fun. I just finished a spit vs. I tried it. The flight model seems not to be particularly advanced, but there is one thing I like very much about it: the feeling of inertia during maneuvers, rolls, etc.

That feeling is lacking for me in X-Plane. I just got done deep-stalling a spit. In a vertical climb I ran out of airspeed and it just kind of stuck there. Eventually it yawed over and I got control back. I didn't think to look but I suspect I was backsliding for several thousand feet with no apparent control input at all. Windows and Linux but where's the mac version because it's a pain to have to go to my grandies house just to check if my addons have loaded properly.
I've been playing YSFlight for years, its started as a bit of a programming assignment for the developer, the graphics are a legacy of that, but if you just want a quick flight sim that runs on anything, and you can have a good network bash with its a good product. The combat element is simplified so you can pick it up in about 5 minutes, and there are a lot of good addons for it.
Now my question is will this run on Windows 95? I'm borrowing a friend's computer with a??? Hope you all are having fun with that program because I did. Without joystick support. Is it okay for me to try to upload a pic of it in action when I have a chance? Anyways that isn't on the top of my list. Numpty Physics.
