I've been trying different mosaic apps for weeks and they were all junk. I finally bought Mazaika for Mac and it did the work perfectly. Kaarel, Estonia Boris, you've created a fantastic program that is easy to use and yields stellar results. I had no problems with Flikr, however. I get much better and faster results if I only put in one image source request such as requesting Flikr to find dogs, puppies, beagles, poodles, etc. If I put in a lot of image requests, it can scan through , images without ever completing, but if I keep the requests brief, it finishes quickly.
From my experience, the older version atleast works. The new version crashed on me 4 times before I uninstalled it and reloaded the first version.. If you try to over work the program by editing image sources or tiles, you loose your work.. Just having downloaded 2. NOTE: The problems listed below apply to my machine - your mileage may vary. Bugs to be aware of: - picking a local folder of images must be repeated after each tiling run - on the second try, it doesn't find any more source images. Remove the folder from the sources, then add it again.
It'll work one more time. Actual setting doesn't matter on my configuration, only touching it is necessary. For testing, i used "Image may appear in any number of tiles" and "1 tile apart", with the "image cropping" slider positioned to the middle. I have tried this several times, with a library of over a thousand photos, and I left the thing running 24 hours. Nothing ever happened. All I got was a black result screen.
There is NO documentation, so how can one figure out if you're doing something wrong? This is about as close to vaporware as you can get while still releasing something.
